Reed's Remember When ...

This Blog is dedicated to remembering things the way they used to be and tying them to today. Not everything in the 'good old days' were good, but a lot of things still have merit. For instance, 'Remember When a half-gallon of ice cream was actually 2 quarts vice 1.75 quarts today? What's up with that?'

Name: Reed

Trying to make sense of 'today' and ensure my children grow up with the beliefs that were instilled in me. Give them the best start in life. Stress do the 'right thing, the first time, every time.'

Reed's Remember to say Thank-You

Do you remember to say 'Thank-You' to a veteran? Today is Veterans Day, November 11, 2005. 87 years ago on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month Germany surrendered with the implementation of an armistice - ending the The Great War. Since 1919 on November 11th we pause to remember Veterans past and present.

But I want you to go even one further. Take every opportunity you have to say Thank-You to a veteran. Whether it is your grandfather, next-door neighbor or one you meet while chatting at the airport. These men and women give us the freedom and liberty we take for granted every day.

Today there is so much discussion about the Global War on Terrorism. Should we be over there? Are we spending too much money? The President did this or that. Our military is what gives us the ability to ask these questions and NOT be jailed or killed as an 'enemy of the state.' They keep us free; do you really know what that is?

So, today and every day - say Thank-you to those who are willing to die for your right to live free! They will appreciate your kind words and heart felt thanks.
